easy turkey nuggets

These are a new healthier version of the classic chicken nugget.  They were gobbled up by the fam – zero to 100.  They completely remind me of McDonalds chicken nuggets, but of course way better tasting and 1000% healthier.  They can be served over salad or on their own with ketchup or a yogurt srirachia dipping sauce.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup bread crumb
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup oat flour (or regular flour)
  • 1 tbs olive oil

Directions:

In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients using your hands to incorporate all.  Form into balls and then flatten them out into more of a disc shape (if mixture is too sticky, lightly coat your hands with olive oil).  Place them on wax paper and coat them with the oat flour.  This gives them a crusty coat when you cooked.

Heat the olive oil on a large skillet, on medium high.  When oil is hot, add the nuggets and cook on medium heat, about 5 minutes per side.

Yields 4 servings.
